When seeking relationship advice, people usually take this quest seriously. They have realized their life is in a funk and generally try to find useful information to get things back on the right path. However, if you’re seeking a good chuckle instead try ControversialPolitics.com.
It seems that ControversialPolitics.com wants to point the blame for every problem in this country at the Liberals and more important President Obama. Granted you can get a good laugh at a lot of the blogs on this site, but this is definitely not the site to seek out useful information from. I might even go as far as to suggest to the author that if he doesn’t like what’s going on, do something constructive to help fix it, not just sit there and complain about what isn’t getting done. He is so quick to point the finger at the current administration for problems that started quite some time ago. Was he making these same accusations when our America jobs were being shipped overseas? Oh how about when a prior president was talking about amnesty for the illegal immigrants collecting welfare?

Marijuana has been in use on planet earth since 2700 B.C. according to Chinese manuscript. Marijuana has been in used by Americans for several hundred years and was first recognized here in 1545 years. It was considered such a useful crop by the Jamestown settlers that in 1607 they began cultivating it. From the 17th to the mid 20th century, marijuana was considered a household drug suitable for the treatment of headaches, menstrual cramps, and toothaches. Prior to 1910, the growth and trade of marijuana and hashish was fairly limited. Following the conclusion of the Mexican Revolution, trafficking of the drug became more prevalent making growth and transport of the drug easier and profitable. The marijuana business expanded to reach the ports of New Orleans where it was sold on the black market along side other strains of the plant. From 1913 to approximately 1938 a variety of marijuana known as Cannabis Americana was cultivated by American drug companies for use in their drug products.
With this in mind, why is it that in 1914, the Mormon Church was allowed to take such an active role in marijuana legislation. What ever happened to the separation of church and state? And why do otherwise law-abiding Americans have to obey silly rules originated and pressed into law by a religious institution. Is this the Inquisition or witch hunts instituted by another well known religious institution, the Catholic Church?
We are all responsible enough to make out own decisions on whether to smoke or not to smoke a drug that the government has claimed for years, will drive us insane. By this point in time we should all take a careful look at history including the propaganda efforts like Reefer Madness and others and stop being dictated to by the few staunch right wingers that have never tasted a good joint but will drink themselves silly. It is time for the rules to change when the few are so openly allowed to dictate to the many. It is very reminiscent of prohibition, the Nazi Party and Apartheid. When do we say enough is enough and light a big one?

Christmas is an annual Christian holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated on December 25, but this date is not known to be Jesus' actual birthday, and may have initially been chosen to correspond with either the day exactly nine months after some early Christians believed Jesus had been conceived, a historical Roman festival, or the date of the northern hemisphere's winter solstice. Christmas is central to the Christmas and holiday season, and in Christianity marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.
Although a Christian holiday, Christmas is also widely celebrated by many non-Christians, and some of its popular celebratory customs have pre-Christian or secular themes and origins. Popular modern customs of the holiday include gift-giving, music, an exchange of greeting cards, church celebrations, a special meal, and the display of various decorations; including Christmas trees, lights, garlands, mistletoe, nativity scenes, and holly. In addition, Father Christmas (known as Santa Claus in some areas, including North America, Australia and Ireland) is a popular mythological figure in many countries, associated with the bringing of gifts for children.
Because gift-giving and many other aspects of the Christmas festival involve heightened economic activity among both Christians and non-Christians, the holiday has become a significant event and a key sales period for retailers and businesses. The economic impact of Christmas is a factor that has grown steadily over the past few centuries in many regions of the world.
In recent decades however, during the annual approach to December 25, it is felt by some that public, corporate, and government mention of the term "Christmas" has declined and been replaced with a generic term— usually "holiday" or "winter"— and that popular non-religious aspects of Christmas, such as secular Christmas carols and decorated trees are still prominently showcased and recognized, but are vaguely associated with unspecified "holidays", rather than with Christmas.
Supporters of using the word "holidays" instead of "Christmas" cite the fact that many of the symbols western societies have come to associate with Christmas were taken from non-Christian pagan traditions that pre-date the birth of Jesus. Specifically, symbols such as decorated trees, mistletoe, holly wreaths and yule logs all have non-Christian origins. From a historical context, "Christmas" only recently adopted these long-standing winter traditions into its own identity. Therefore, many non-Christians argue that the most accurate description of this season is the "holiday" season, not the "Christmas" season.
In the long run, isn’t it the spirit behind the holiday what is truly important here?

For once, I can agree with at least the concept of this bit of thought from Controversialpolitics.com. Politicians too often forget things promised in the election campaigns in favor of promoting their own interests or those of their largest contributors. An example of this is shown in their quote from Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) who reportedly said “I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district if I actually think what I am doing is going to be helpful." The video can be seen at:
And if that is not enough, check out some of the other memorable errors in judgment made by some of our elected representatives and go to Controversialpolitics.com today, for a good laugh.
